1996 Vintage New Old-Stock Swatch Original Medium Pink – LR115

Slumber parties and pillow fights are what we had in mind for this Time Capsule edition.   

This Swatch comes in a reusable tin box filled with miniature toys and candy.
You will receive a set of the world’s smallest my little ponies, a pair of rainbow heart shoelaces, a replacement white band to fit your Swatch for when you are ready to change the look a little, and a variety of candy, stickers, and supplies to take you back to a carefree time and place. 

Each Time Capsule is hand-assembled and each product varies slightly.  

With the Swatch Original Medium Pink, femininity means business.  The lip gloss glitter pink strap mounted to a lady’s size (25mm x 31.4mm) translucent pink case houses a high contrast white dial with pink Arabic numerals for all the hour indices, and time is indicated with glossy jet-black hands that glow in the dark, for when business goes past dusk.

When Swatch launched in 1983, the Swiss watch industry was in crisis, low cost overseas models had come to dominate the market.  Swatch, under the direction of Nicolas Hayek, transformed the watch to a statement of artistic expression.  Using the latest quartz technology and utilizing lower-cost manufacturing, the strategy took the market by storm and in a new direction. Suddenly, watches were no longer precious items that were carefully considered investments, but the hottest accessory where there was a frenzy to acquire every edition.  It was Swatch that opened the door for what is now called the “Fashion Watch”.
